Clinical Experience

I have over ten years experience both in private practice in East London, through the NHS and within the charity sector working with a range of emotional and psychological issues mentioned above.  I also work as a clinical supervisor for other counsellors.  I work within the ethical framework and guidelines of the BACP and UKRCP where you can find my details listed.

How I Work

My diverse skills and training in integrative counselling psychotherapy allow me to be flexible in the way I work with each individual. Hence, I use different skills, such as CBT, meditation and mindfulness training or other creative methods where appropriate.

Our first meeting is an assessment and opportunity for both of us to explore and understand what brings you to therapy. I like to involve you as a client in a process so that we jointly agree to what might be the best way forward. It is a collaborative process and also your chance to be actively involved in therapy.  For some people that could mean dealing with present symptoms and goals whilst for others it may mean exploring the root causes and patterns underlying  current difficulties.  Please visit my website for more details about the way I work at: www.andreaharrn.co.uk.

I see clients in my private practice in South Woodford where I work as part of a team of other therapists, including osteopaths, homeopaths, hypnotherapists, acupuncturists and reiki practitioners within a clinical setting.

I am also part of a wider network of clinical psychologists, mediators, counsellors, hypnotherapists and alternative therapists: www.selectcounselling.co.uk.

I work in a holistic way, acknowledging the importance of the whole person – mind, emotions, body and spirit.
