Description

Conference Facilities

The Barbican Centre offers a complete range of conference facilities under one roof for between 15 and 2000 delegates.  Its twin centrepieces are the world-famous Barbican Hall and Barbican Theatre.  Their exceptional acoustics and intelligent design create a highly personal, persuasive and intimate atmosphere, even with a capacity attendance.  Barbican Hall seats 500-1989 in three raked tiers which provide excellent sight lines, as well as having exceptional technical resources which make it the ideal location for AGM’s, International Congresses, Award Ceremonies and other large conferences. Barbican Theatre seats 300-1156 in one of the finest auditoriums in Europe, one which ensures that no participant is ever more than 65 feet from the stage.  Full back stage access makes Barbican Theatre particularly suitable for events with large sets, such as product launches.

Our three air-conditioned cinemas are equipped with advanced technologies and can be adapted to meet the needs of any event.  Each one has its own projection room and simultaneous translation booths.  For further flexibility and the finest support, we retain our own technicians to help you achieve a first-class result.  Each cinema rental includes a projection screen, PA system, three microphones and a technician, and further AV facilities are available to quote.  The maximum capacities of our three cinemas are 280, 251 and 153 respectively.

A flexible range of conference suites is available for groups of 15-170 people.  The contemporary design, sympathetic to the Centre’s modern architecture, has created an extraordinarily flexible space which includes two large flat floored conference suites incorporating sliding partitions, allowing the creation of up to six separate rooms.  These suites, all of which feature natural daylight and air conditioning, are ideal for focus groups, seminars, recruitment, and training as well as serving as syndicate rooms for the larger conferences. Adjacent to the conference suites is a luxuriously appointed boardroom featuring leather upholstered armchairs and a beech-topped modular congress table to accommodate up to 22 delegates.

Banqueting Facilities

To compliment the conference facilities or as autonomous banqueting areas, the Barbican Centre has incomparable settings in the Conservatory, Conservatory Terrace and Garden Room.  The Conservatory is home to finches, quails, exotic fish and over 2000 species of tropical plants and trees, making it the perfect backdrop to any event.  The Garden Room is ideal for occasions ranging from buffet lunches to formal banquets, and offers remarkable views over the conservatory, lakes and fountains of the Lakeside Terrace, and the church of St. Giles Cripplegate.   Barbican Centre also has a range of Restaurants and Cafes which cater for all tastes and budgets.
