Public Service Improvement in Wales

The Welsh Assembly Government is carrying out a major survey of citizens in Wales as part of its commitment to public service improvement

The survey, to be carried out in every local authority area in Wales between now and February 2010 will enable WAG &other public service bodies to:

  • Assess people’s views & experiences of public services
  • Monitor trends in the views & needs of people in Wales
  • Assist in developing policies, for example on environmental issues & the internet
  • Set priorities and target resources to meet needs

AndrewDavies, the Minister for Finance and Public Service Delivery, said:

In these challenging economic times it is vital that we seek to obtain maximum value for the “Welsh Pound” by finding more efficient and innovative ways to improve public services.

This means that services must be citizen-centred and put the needs of the public at their heart. We need to talk to citizens to find out what they need and expect from their public services.

This is a real opportunity for people across Wales to have their say on the issues that are important to them, and to contribute to shaping the Assembly Government’s policies.”
